Kekova Restaurant, the first restaurant in Ucagiz Village, Kekova, was originally opened in 1970 by Enver Pehlivan and has been a family run business ever since. Enver was a "colourful" local character, well known for his turkish wrestling skills and as the "muhtar" (mayor) of Kekova for 25 years!!
The original restaurant building was completely rebuilt in 2001 and pension rooms have since been added (The Lodge). The Restaurant and Lodge are currently being run by Mucait Tezgel, a close family friend in partnership with Kate Toope, an English woman who has been associated with the Pehlivan family for the past 22 years!!
Kekova Restaurant serves freshly cooked fish, meat and vegetable dishes in an idyllic waterfront setting with spectacular views of the bay and surrounding mountains. Fish, calamari and lobster dishes are a speciality, and there is a barbeque for grilled dishes. The restaurant has a wooden jetty built over the sea and a first floor terrace which has spectacular views of the Ucagiz bay. Starlit meals overlooking the boats resting in the bay with the Kekova mountains as a backdrop are an experience not to be missed!!
